Even in 2006 ThePassion Still Plays
I cannot say enough about the movie I have always been a fan of Mel Gibson .I have even read the story on how God blessed Mr.Gibson in Australia, Gibson promised God he would never forget the blessing he recieved. Mel Gibson give us the Passion of the Christ . Alot of people did not want their children to see the movie , my youngest was only 5 yrs. old when the movie was released I TOOK HER TO SEE the movie afterwards she said" daddy did Jesus really go through all of that for us " I replied" Yes baby, that really happened" she then said " well if Jesus loves me that much then I should go to church all the time and let the Whole world know I LOVE MY JESUS....now on a weekly basis she pops in the DVD and at the end she looks up and says I LOVE YOU TOO JESUS.........how can anyone keep the Blessings of God (children) from seeing The truth about how much God loves us . Sometimes the truth is not pretty to our eyes but is that not life..I WILL TELL ANYONE WHO REFUSES TO ALLOW THEIR CHILDREN TO SEE THIS MOVIE .DON'T DENY YOUR CHILDREN TO SEE FIRST HAND THE LOVE OF OUR LORD

Non-believer
Hello,
I just wanted to voice my opinion of the film as an Athiest.
I grew up in a strongly Christian home, but lost faith at the age of 11 after the death of my mother.
However,I have never lost my faith in the teachings of Jesus, the man.
His words always gave me stregnth in times of loss and doubt.

Unfortunately,Science has led to a dis-belief in an omnipotent god over the years...I do believe that there is more to life than what science can show us at this time, but I feel that I need more than what the bible tells us.
Organized religion is also a factor;the teachings of Jesus tell us that faith is not about giving money to an organization.
I find it hard to find faith in a church in which the minister drives a brand new Cadillac and has the nerve to ask me for money.

Anyhow...sorry for the rant.
Back to the film;
I really felt a connection with Jesus, the human, after watching the movie...even dusted off my bible and read for a few hours.
Now,being a father,I felt for the first time in almost 2 decades what Jesus was offering-true,unconditional love.

I hope to find faith again,someday...

Thank you for reading,
Charles

I have always been a believer, but I strayed, and left the church. I lost my faith and in turn my life began a downward spiral that led me into drug and alcohol addiction. Through the love of friends and family, and thier prayers , the Lord Jesus touched my heart. This I believe occurred not by some magic thunderbolt or anything like that . I believe that He put me in situations that gave others a chance to plant the seed of faith and love for the Lord. God watered that seed through the people that I worked with and friends. I have now a renewed faith and love for our Savior . This film was a God send to me. It reminded me of how much God loves us all. The entire film helps to give me strength. To watch it and not be affected, means that a visit to the hospital is in order, because you would have to be dead. I know that the only complaints that I have heard are from nonbelievers. Nomatter thier title, to condemn this film is silly. History tells us that the Romans were the masters of pain , so the beating and crucifiction are probably less grafic than the event really was. I thank the Lord everyday for the salvation afforded me by the sacrifice that has been depicted in this film. Thank you Mr. Gibson for reminding us of this great sacrifice . Yours in Christ , Don

What Happens Next?
It is a heart wrenching story. Even though I found it very disturbing to watch, it was a wonderful movie. Mel Gibson can be very proud.
I would like to see his next movie portray the lives of Mary, and Mary Magdeline after and as a result of Christ's death. What impact did His death have on their lives?

My God...what a movie!!!!!!!!!
I was so scared to watch this movie because I had heard the comments of others. "It's too bloody" or "People were getting out of the theater." After I watched, I was so moved. My faith was back. I was everything before this movie! Naive, stupid, blind-sided. You name it, I was it!!! I couldn't believe how much Jesus Christ went through JUST FOR US!!! I was moved to tears. I just felt so guilty. Every time they would hit Jesus, I felt sick. I cried, I felt the pain. When he was being crucified, I was torn apart. And then I saw the suffering of a HUMAN MOTHER, the Virgin Mary, this movie made Mary finally look like a human being. Many people fail to realize that Mary also suffered watching Her son go through what He went through. After watching that movie, I realized that Mary is Our Mother and that we owe some respect for her. Jesus Christ is my true love, my inspiration....I adore him.

Christmas
(I tried to send this response on Christmas day, but it didn't go through. So, this is back tracking from my response sent on 25 Dec 2005.)

I have decided to view this film annually on Christmas and Easter, as those two holy days seem the most appropriate time to do so. I encourage everyone to do the same if possible. As you know, this film is a very powerful film and has the ability to influence and enlighten, to help cleanse one's mind and focus on what Christ has done for all. I will personally admit that I have fallen short many times. I'll watch this film, become rejuvinated by it's powerful message and walk away spiritually sound for some time.

After awhile, life will throw a curve ball at me and I end up getting too caught up on the irrelevant things that turn my focus from Him. It isn't until I realize the heavy burdons I carry do I realize that I nailed them on the cross long ago. Then, motivating factors like viewing this film place me back toward the right direction by reminding me of the love and sacrifice Christ has given.

Don't get me wrong, one shouldn't just watch this film and only this film, but also strive to study the word of God and obtain a deeper relationship with the Lord. I only encourage one to view this film for its purpose as a tool, much like any tool that can be utilized to help rebuild and strengthen his/her faith.

With all that said, I encourage you to experience this film during the holiness of the Christmas and Easter holidays, for it would be the most appropriate times of the year. May this film provide you with the guidance you need in seeking spiritual growth and a deeper relationship with our heavenly father. I pray this film will be a blessing to you as it has been to me and the mass audience it has touched throughout the entire world.

God bless and Merry Christmas. I pray this finds you well and in good spirit.

A Christmas message
I have decided to annually view this film on Christmas and around the Easter holiday because it is indeed an inspiration and indicator of what Christ has done for us. Though I know many cannot view this more than once, I am able to gather the strength to view this annually, simply because there has been times throughout the year when I have become complacent with my spiritual walk and need this film as a tool to enlighten and inspire me to get back onto the right path.

Not many films these days have the power to influence in such a tremendous way as the Passion of the Christ. It has the ability to encourage and enlighten, it strengthens the spritual mind, and it inspires one to connect with his/her personnel savior who has died for their sins.

My purpose in writing this is that I encourage you this Christmas day to do the same. Take a moment to experience this film if you have never done so, or please do so again if you have not in quite some time. If you recall the way you were moved by it when you saw it and the power it had, then why not take the opportunity to share the experience again during this holy time. Let this film encourage you and inspire you to seek His ultimate will in your life, and let this experience overcome any adversity or tumultuous experiences you may be dealing with in your life.

In this, I pray we may all possess a common goal, to build a foundation that teaches integrity in the face of God, so that generations may prevail in a healthy society long after you or I have departed from this earth. The Passion of the Christ led a mass audience to seek His will. I pray this will provide you with another opportunity to grow closer to Him and His amazing love. God bless, and I pray this has found everyone well and in good health. Merry Christmas to you and yours in 2005, and as well, may you experience many blessed Christmas' ahead (depending on when you read this) and a blessed year.
God bless.
